Justice Prevailed (A True Story)

Justice Prevailed (A True Story)

There is a true story about justice. This story shows us how can justice happens. It also shows us that Justice should be the same for all, whether rich or poor. A true story here below:

All the Wazir (ministers) were practicing archery. Sultan Ghiyas-ud-din was also practicing with them.  Suddenly the arrow went wrong and hit the child of a widow and he died because of that arrow. Sultan could not know.

The women reached the court of Qazi (judge). The Qazi Siraj-ud-din turned to the woman and asked her:

What happened? Why are you crying?

The woman wept and wrote a complaint against Sultan Ghiyas-ud-din that her child has been killed by the Sultan's arrow.

The Qazi (judge) Siraj-ud-din listened to the woman's words and then wrote a letter to the Sultan. He wrote in this letter that “a complaint has been lodged against you so, come to the court immediately and respond to complaints against you”

Then he gave this order to a court footman and asked him to take it to the Sultan.

After giving the order, the Qazi (judge) took out a whip and put it under the mattress of his seat. The pawn reached the Sultan's Palace and said that the judge has summoned you to his court. The Sultan got up quickly and hid the small sword in his robe. Then he reached the Qazi ‘s court.

The judge listened to both of them and pronounced his verdict.

“Due to accidental murder, an atonement on Sultan and Diyat will come to his community”

Qazi also said that

“If the victim's mother agrees to the property, the sultan can be released”

The Sultan persuaded the victim's mother about the property and asked the judge that convinced the victim’s mother and she agrees. Qazi also asked her and she said ‘Yes I agreed’

Now the judge stands up from his seat to pay his respects to the Sultan and seated him in his place. The Sultan drew his sword from his robe and showed it to the judge and spoke

“If you had the slightest concession to me, I would have blown your neck with this sword”

The judge also took out a whip from under his mattress from his seat and showed it to the Sultan and said

“If you were a little hesitant to listen to the Shari'ah, I would punish you from this whip. Of course, it was a test for both of us”

Everyone praised the Sultan and Qazi.
